This project is the restoration of an 18th century Byzantine-orthodox monastery on Cunda Island in Ayvalık, Turkey. Landmark and renowned, the building will be used as a signature museum-home as well as a meeting and resting center for important guests and a corporate flagship building for the Sabanci family. ATTEC is the structural designer and the engineer-of-record for this project. ATTEC presented a paper regarding the project in the second international conference of Seismic Protection of Cultural Heritage in November 2011. Project Architect was EPA Mimarlık.
