A 25-meter crossing between a prominent private school and a busy shopping center nearby. The bridge was designed in structural steel totaling 60 tons. Designed with built-up box beams and columns, the 16mm steel plate deck of the bridge was also utilized as a structural diaphragm. Resembling orthotropic behavior, this plate was reinforced with 10 mm plates arranged in an X-bracing fashion in the plan. Since no other bracing had to be used, and the deck and beams could completely be fabricated in the plant, the installation was completed over a weekend, saving time, money, and reducing risks.
